Here is the interview conducted with Roobens Fils

Q1. Brief introduction about yourself?

Reply: Hi! I’m Roobens, a black travel blogger from Paris, France. I used to work at a regular 9 to 5 job. The company decided to lay off employees, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to start traveling around the world. I left my hometown, Paris, 7 months ago, and today I’m still on the road. I used to live in Paris but I don’t have a place where I live now, I left my apartment, sold all my belongings… My life is in my backpack! I decided to document my travels, and I run a travel blog. You can check my adventures here : https://www.beenaroundtheglobe.com/

Q2. Where you travel and How long your Trip was and when you travel?

Reply: Since I’m constantly on the road for seven months now, I’m going to talk about my trip in Iran, a trip that I loved! I was there in August, and I spent three weeks in this beautiful country. I first landed in Tehran, then I went to Isfahan, Shiraz, and I also spent a day visiting Persepolis.

Q3. How you reach there via trains, Air or road trip ?

Reply: I’m used to travel overland, but I didn’t have my Iranian visa. I had to come by flight to get my visa on arrival, it’s not possible to get it overland. So I took a flight from Baku (Azerbaijan), to Tehran. And once I was in Iran, I always took buses to go to one city to another one. They’re cheap!

Q4. Write brief description about the destination you visit?

Reply: Iran is a very beautiful country, full of history. The people there are very kind and welcoming. They’re always happy to see tourists visiting their country, because they know the media don’t portray them as good people. They told me “In your country, you think we are all terrorists but this is not true!“. Indeed, people are very nice. As for the country, it has a great history. We’re in the Persian empire, where was Persepolis 2500 years ago. You’ll find a lot of very old mosques, mausoleums, beautiful bridges… You have to go!

Q5. Places you visit with 3-4 photos of each place you visit?

Q6. Is there any adventure activity that you have done on trip?

Reply: I didn’t do any adventure activity during my stay in Iran. We just went to the desert for one day but nothing really adventurous.

Q7. Things you carry with your self on trip?

Reply: I travel with my big backpack and a small bag. All my life is in those two bags : shorts, T shirts, underwar, socks, toilet paper, medicine, laptop, smartphone, camera… Still, I’m just traveling with 12kg.

Q8. Highlight your travel experience in one paragraph about the place?

Reply: Traveling in Iran, especially in Tehran and Shiraz, can be a challenge. Indeed, those cities are very polluted and there’s constantly traffic, horns, people everywhere… But the kindness of people there outweighs those small experiences. People come to you in the streets, say “Hello! Welcome to Iran! Enjoy our country!” Crazy! I recommend to all my friends to visit this country, I was very pleasantly surprised!

Q9. Any advice or suggestion you want to give to others about this place?

Reply: If you can, try to be hosted by locals, instead of staying in a hotel. Use websites like couchsurfing for that. I was with locals and the experience was A LOT better! I was able to live like a regular Iranian guy, see their customs, how they live… Things I would have never experienced if I had visited this country as a regular tourist!
