The culture of Varanasi is one of the important reason that attracts tourists from all over the world. This city easily approachable by the means of Air, Railways and Road transport. The distance of Varanasi from state capital Lucknow is 320 km in Southeast and 121 km from Allahabad in East.

Ways to reach at Varanasi:

By Air: To reach here by air the nearest airport is Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport which connects to other states of India through domestic flights as well as this airport is well connected through international flights. Various flights that reach here from Delhi,  Gaya, Kathmandu, Khajuraho, Sharjah, Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata to Varanasi  are Air India, Buddha Air, Jet Airways, Jet Konnect, IndiGo, and SpiceJet.

By Railways: To reach here by train the nearest railway station is Varanasi Cant Railway Station. This station is the major railway station that connects to other cities.

Some of the National Highways are National Highway 2 that connects Varanasi from Kolkata, Kanpur, Agra, and Delhi, National Highway 29 that connects Varanasi from Gorakhpur via Ghazipur in Northeast, National Highway 56 that connects Varanasi from Lucknow via Jaunpur and Sultanpur in Northwest and National Highway 7 that connects Varanasi from Hyderabad, Bangalore, Salem, Madurai, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari in South. Kashi Vishwanath Temple: This temple is the must visit religious place in the city. This temple is situated on the banks of River Ganges dedicated to Lord Shiva. this temple is also known as the “Golden Temple” which was built by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore in 1780.  This temple is very crowded place during evening aarti and in the month of Shravan.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple: This  famous temple in Varanasi  which is easily approachebale . This temple is located on Sankat Mochan road approx 6KM from Varanasi Cantt Station. This temple is an ancient temple in the city dedicated to Hanuman Ji. Many devotees visit here during Tuesday’s and Saturday’s.

The Dashashwamedh Ghat: This ghat is probably the oldest ghat of Varanasi located on the Ganges, and is close to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Here you will also see  important pilgrimage site dedicated to Sulatankesvara, Brahmesvara, Varahesvara, Abhaya Vinayaka, Ganga (the Ganges), and Bandi Devi. The best time to visit here is on Tuesdays and on religious festivals for special artis.

The Manikarnika Ghat: This ghat is  one of the main Ghats in Varanasi and  is definitely a worth visit.This ghat is divided into two sections, one section is used as a cremation ground and another for sacred baths. Bathing in ghat is considered as the sacred for Hindus.

Famous places and monuments to visit in Varanasi:

Sarnath: This places is famous places to visit in the city and has the Buddha temple inside the complex which is full of good energy. This place is just 10 km away from Varanasi. Here you will see tallest Buddha statue surrounded by good garden. Here are 2 Park like spots side by side one is the Stupa park and excavations of Ashok Chakra and the  other one is of the Buddha Temple and deer park and also you will see museum around the temple.

Ramnagar Fort: This fort is  located near the Ganges on its eastern bank and opposite to the Tulsi Ghat and was built in the 18th century by Kashi Naresh Raja Balwant Singh. This fort is located on opposite side of Ganga river where you can reach easily reach by taking taxi;s and cabs. There is museum inside the fort where you will see all historical items used that time. The balcony of the fort gives you the lovely view of Varanasi.
